COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Fire crews were called to an old west side apartment complex around 3am to battle a large fire.

A police officer patrolling in the area near the Hollywood Casino Columbus noticed the fire and called it in. When firefighters arrived they called for a 2nd alarm due to the large size of the building on fire. A total of 80 firefighters were brought in to try and put the fire out.

Firefighters initially attacked the fire inside, but pulled back when they believed the attic of the building was fully involved in fire.

Our news partners, ABC6, reported that the fire was brought under control in about a half-hour.

Investigators believe the fire started in an end unit.

No injuries have been reported.

The same apartment complex saw a fire in 2004 that killed 10 people. That fire was considered an arson and no arrest has ever been made in that case.

Several of the buildings in the more than 400-unit apartment complex are set to be demolished.
