BUCYRUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly for Roger Moore, the mayor of Bucyrus who died unexpectedly Tuesday night.
A statement from city leaders issued shortly after midnight said “The City of Bucyrus is saddened to announce the passing of one of its most generous citizens and dedicated civic leader.”
Moore's death came just hours after he attended a Bucyrus City Council meeting.
City Council President Sis Love was scheduled to be sworn in as acting mayor Wednesday morning.
According to the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum, Moore was elected to his position in 2012. He previously served on Bucyrus City Council for two terms before serving as Council President from 2010 to 2011.
Moore was also a local realtor and auctioneer/appraiser. He was a 1983 graduate of Bucyrus High School.
Moore was 50 years old.
