COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --A man suspected of holding up at least eight businesses met his match Tuesday night.

Columbus police say the suspect went into the Karl Road Market just before 9 p.m., produced a gun and demanded the cash from the register.

The clerk complied and, as the suspect was heading for the door, the clerk grabbed the store's handgun and fired several shots.  The suspect apparently wasn't hurt and fled southbound on Karl Rd.

Police believe the same man is responsible for a robbery Sunday at the Trabue Food Mart as well as holdups in Bexley, Whitehall, Grove City and Pickaway County.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbus Police Robbery Unit at (614) 645-4665 or Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
