COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- The Columbus Division of Fire reported Monday that Lt. Stuart Tudor remains in critical condition after being struck by lightning Saturday night at Crew Stadium.
Tudor was in the parking lot after playing in a charity soccer game when he was struck.
Don Lewis sought shelter from the storm in a nearby Porta-John and tells our news partner, ABC6, it sounded "like a bomb going off".
"I had no idea it hit somebody," he said.
Jack Reall, president of the union representing Columbus firefighters, says Tudor is "part of our family and so is his family, so we try to take care of them as best as we can."
Reall tells ABC6 firefighters are taking turns at Tudor's bedside.
Tudor was struck just before Saturday night's match with FC Dallas was to begin.
The match was postponed until Sunday. The two teams played to a scoreless draw.
After the match, Crew players signed a get-well banner to Tudor.
