COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Gas prices are on a downward trend.
ColumbusGasPrices.com shows a gallon of unleaded going for $3.18 Monday morning, compared to $3.29 last week. Statewide, prices are also down 11 cents, $3.23 today versus $3.34 a week ago, according to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report.
The drop in prices is expected to continue if the budget impasse and government shutdown drag on, reducing demand for energy and resulting in lower fuel prices. That would be a boon for drivers but also signal a weak economy.
