Gas prices: How high is too high?

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- When it comes to gas prices, how high is too high?

AAA asked more than 1,000 adults across the country and found that half think $3.30 is too much. 40 percent think gas should be less than $3 a gallon.

While most Americans think current prices are too high, they aren't doing anything about it. 53 percent said they've made changes in driving habits or lifestyle compared to 62 percent a year earlier.

"And that could be because people have already done this in the past so they don't need to change again or because people are just kind of putting up with it," said AAA Ohio's Kimberly Schwind.

Both the national and Ohio gas price averages have remained above $3 a gallon since December, 2010.

The survey, which polled 1,011 adults in the U.S. last month, also found that 65 percent believe gas is too high when the price reaches $3.50 per gallon and 91 percent believe gas is too high when the price reaches $4 per gallon.
