WEST LIBERTY, Ohio (WTVN) -- A helicopter crashed in Logan County, sending one person to the hospital.

The crash happened off County Road 190 near Bellefontaine shortly before 5 p.m.

Investigators say the pilot, Lou Boucher, 50, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was cutting trees using ten 26-inch blades suspended from a 30-foot extension beneath the chopper. Boucher flies for a South Carolina-based company.

Boucher was working to help clear the area near a railroad track to make room for a new 20-mile bike path from Bellefontaine to Urbana when the crash happened.

Emergency crews flew Boucher to Grant Medical Center where he's listed in serious condition.
