COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) --Prosecutors say no charges will be filed against an Upper Arlington police officer whose cruiser slammed into a car at an intersection, killing six members of a family.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says dash-cam video from October 18 of last year shows Officer Shawn Paynter's car drove into the intersection of Riverside Dr. and Fishinger Rd. on a yellow light on the way to a report of a robbery at a nearby McDonald's.

A car driven by a Columbus man already had entered the intersection on a red light and stopped in the middle.

The subsequent crash killed the driver, his wife and four of their daughters who were in the back seat.

O'Brien says in a letter to Pery Township's police chief that there is no basis for criminal or traffic charges in the case.
