COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Two Columbus police officers working special duty shot and killed a man who allegedly had threatened them and another man with a gun.

Jonathan D. Rodgers, 22, was shot outside the Charlie Bear nightclub in the 2800 block of Olentangy River Rd. around 2 a.m.

According to witnesses, Rodgers was involved in a fight with another man inside the nightclub and said he was going to his car to get a gun. Rodgers then is believed to have shot at that man as he came out of the bar.

Two Columbus officers working special duty for the shopping complex saw what happened and confronted Rodgers.  They fired a number of times, hitting him. Rodgers was pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else was hurt.

Police are looking for the man who was shot at by Rodgers.  If you know who he is, you're asked to call Columbus Police at 614-645-4730.
