COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- An off-duty firefighter was critically injured when they were struck by lightning at a Columbus Crew game Saturday.

The incident happened just before the match with FC Dallas was to begin.

"During tonight’s thunderstorm that caused the severe weather delay, an individual was injured during the inclement weather and was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. No other information surrounding the incident is known at this time," the team posted on their website. 

The match was postponed because of the incident.

Our news partner, ABC6, reports the victim was Columbus Fire Lt. Stu Tudor. He was off-duty at the time of the incident.
