COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- OSU football coach Urban Meyer says that he'll bench running back Carlos Hyde for the first three games of the season after he was involved in an incident at a downtown bar.

“Carlos Hyde will be suspended for at least the first three games of the 2013 season for conduct not representative of this football program or this university. He will be required to fulfill additional obligations before he is allowed to play in a game,” Meyer wrote in a statement released Tuesday night by the university.

Hyde won't play in home games against Buffalo and San Diego State along with a road game at California.

Hyde was seen on surveillance video in an altercation with a woman at Sugar Bar II on South Front Street. The woman chose not to press charges against Hyde and the case was closed by Columbus Police on Tuesday afternoon.
