COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) --On the heels of a Quinnipiac University poll giving Gov. John Kasich his highest popularity ratings ever comes another from the same institution, finding President Barack Obama's job satisfaction rate among Ohioans is at an all-time low.
Forty percent of those polled are unhappy with the job Obama is doing while 57 percent are satisfied.
Among men, the poll found 61 percent disapprove and 37 percent approve. Fifty three percent of women are unhappy with Obama's performance, 44 percent are satisfied. In December 2012, Obama had a 50-46 approval rating among men and a 58-38 rating among women.
The Quinnipiac poll also finds 78 percent of Ohio voters say they "somewhat" or "strongly" support a law requiring background checks for people buying guns at gun shows and online.
On another issue, voters are split 46–47 percent on whether the state should expand its Medicaid program to cover more people or not as part of the federal health care overhaul.
