COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Thousands of South Central Power customers in Pickaway and Ross counties lost heat and electricity Wednesday morning when AEP lost its feed to several SCP substations.

SCP spokesperson Lisa Hooker says crews are re-routing power from other substations to return service. However, due to the extremely cold temperatures, Hooker says workers are being careful not to overload the substations.

The outages come just hours after SCP restored service to more than 6,000 customers in the Canal Winchester and Lithopolis areas.
