COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --A teenager is due to appear before a juvenile court judge in Columbus Thursday after police charged her with murder in the stabbing death of another girl.

Police believe a fight took place between Cierra Howard, 16, and Jasmine Goodwin, 17, outside Howard's Kenview Rd. home around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Howard, police say, had a knife and used it to stab Goodwin.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Goodwin was a junior at Walnut Ridge High School, which planned to have grief counselors available on Thursday.
