COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) --Two people lost their lives in separate accidents Sunday night in central Ohio.
Just after 7:30 p.m., a pickup truck driven by Curtis Randall Hicks, 51, of Columbus, hit an SUV driven by Millie Embaugh, 75. Embaugh was having trouble with her car and was trying to get it over to the median of I-270 east near U.S. 23 on the north side when her vehicle was struck by Hicks' pickup.
Hicks was taken to St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Ms. Embaugh was taken to another hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have played a role in the accident.
A woman operating a motorcycle was killed about an hour later on U.S. 23 and State Route 317, near Scioto Downs, when she collided with an SUV.
The driver of the SUV wasn't seriously hurt.
