COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- The National Weather Service has placed a large portion of central Ohio under a Winter Storm Watch. It goes into effect Saturday evening and continues through Monday afternoon.

Forecasters are calling for 6-12" of of heavy snow. Freezing rain and sleet could also mix into the storm for areas south of Columbus. That would drop snowfall totals. The NWS says ice accumulations could be "significant."

Areas north of Columbus are expected to see all snow.

ABC6 Meteorologist Dana Turtle is calling for the heaviest snow to fall overnight Sunday.
