NEWARK, Ohio — A Licking County woman accused of faking a cancer diagnosis for her 4-year-old son intends to change her plea to either no contest or guilty on felony charges of child endangering and theft.

A court filing by Emily Creno's Attorney indicates the Utica woman decided to change her plea on both counts after reviewing information from the prosecution's case.

A judge had found Creno competent for trial.

Still unclear is whether Creno will plead guilty or no contest at the May 6 hearing. She initially had pleaded not guilty.

Authorities allege Creno shaved her son's head in a scheme that convinced him and others he was dying and bilked people out of donations.
