"The Game" Moves To Fox

For the last  30 years, the Ohio State/Michigan game has been on ABC or ESPN. That will change in 2017. Fox, a new Big 10 football broadcast partner, will carry "The Game" in Ann Arbor, Michigan November 25. The news was announced at as Fox made its 'upfronts' presentation to advertisers.

The ability to carry Ohio State/Michigan and other Big Ten games wasn't cheap. Fox is paying about $240 million a year to be the primary carrier of Big Ten Football. ABC and ESPN is paying $190 million.

In addition to the Ohio State/Michigan game, Fox reportedly will also carry the Penn State vs. Ohio State game in Ohio Stadium October 28. Kickoff times for games have not been announced but based on past history, it seems likely that the Buckeyes/Nittany Lions game will be a prime-time affair.

The announcing teams for the Buckeye games on Fox are unknown but there is a strong possibility that former Buckeye linebacker Chris Spielman of WTVN sister station 105.7, the Zone will be doing color for these marquee Ohio State games. He is teaming with Thom Brennaman this year as one of the top college football announcing teams for Fox.
