South Side Shooting adds to Record Homicide Total

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Columbus Police are investigating the city's 141st homicide of 2017, extending the record for most murders in the city in a calendar year.

Officers were called out to the Sandpebble Lounge just after 2AM Thursday on a report of a shooting.

62-year-old Carl Duncan was found in the parking lot of the establishment with a gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not revealed details of a motive or a suspect.

Columbus broke the homicide record Tuesday when a woman was found dead in her home in the Linden area. The previous record for homicides in a calendar year is 139, set back in 1991.
