Alcohol may have played role in deadly crash

MOUNT GILEAD, Ohio (WTVN) --Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a deadly crash in Knox County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Daniel Niebel, 51, of Butler was killed Tuesday when the pickup truck he was riding in hit an embankment, utility pole, an underground gas line pole and fence before overturning off Treaty Road near North Liberty Road in Pike Township.

The accident occurred just after 5:30 p.m.

The driver and another passenger were treated at Knox Community Hospital for minor injuries.
