ASHLAND, Ohio (WTVN) --An Ashland County jury returns to court Friday for the start of the sentencing phase of Shawn Grate's murder trial.
Grate is facing the death penalty for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Stacy Stanley and Elizabeth Griffin.
The bodies of the two women were found in Grate's Ashland home in 2016.
A third woman was able to escape.
His attorneys will try to convince jurors that he should be sentenced to life in prison.
