Convicted Killer Pleads Not Guilty to New Murder Charges

MARION, Ohio (24-7 News)--Convicted serial killer Shawn Grate is pleading not guilty to new murder charges in connection to a cold case in Marion County.

Grate appeared in court Monday to enter the plea on four counts, including aggravated murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Prosecutors say Grate killed 23-year old Dana Lowery in 2006 and then burned her body in a Marion County area field.

According to reports, Grate voluntarily provided information that led investigators to identify Lowery's remains.

Grate is already on death row for his convictions in the deaths of two women in Ashland County, and two others in Richland County. Those murders occurred about a decade after Lowery's death.
