COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A judge in Franklin County has set a trial date for Dr. William Husel, the former Mt. Carmel doctor accused of administering overdoses of pain medications to dozens of patients.
The trial is tentatively set for April of 2020. Prosecutors say with 25 counts of murder against Dr. Husel, it is set to be the largest murder trial ever in Franklin County.
Prosecutors add that Dr. Husel was connected to at least 35 patients that received pain medication overdoses, some of which included fentanyl.
Dr. Husel was fired late last year. He was an employee of Mt. Carmel from 2013 until December of 2018.
