THORNVILLE, Ohio (WTVN)--A construction worker is dead, after a trench collapsed in Licking County late Monday morning.
The Sheriff's Office says the crew was working on a drainage system for a new building in Bowling Green Township when the trench failed, trapping 39-year-old Drew Oswald.
Workers on scene tried to help using a backhoe and shovels, but Oswald, of Baltic, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least seven departments responded to the scene. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is now investigating.
A support team for firefighters and paramedics also responded to the scene.
