Jury Recommends Life in Prison for Anthony Pardon

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A convicted sex offender will now spend the rest of his life in prison for murder.

The same jury that convicted Anthony Pardon of the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Rachel Anderson last week decided to recommend a sentence of life in prison without the chance of parole.

The jury could not come to a unanimous decision on whether Pardon should get the death penalty for the crime.

Anderson's body was found in her apartment in January 2018, after co-workers became concerned when she did not show up for work on a Monday morning. Anderson was an aspiring funeral director.

Pardon was already a registered sex offender at the time of the murder. The judge will officially hand down Pardon's sentence next month.
