COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State University Department of Athletics announced on Thursday that attendance for this year's spring football game will be capped at 19,180 fans.

The university was given permission by the Big Ten Conference to follow the guidance of local health officials when setting attendance limits for sporting events.

Tickets for the game go on sale Monday, April 12th, but most of the tickets available will be given to health care workers at OSU Wexner Medical Center, who are helping those fighting the coronavirus.

The Athletic Department anticipates about 4,500 tickets will be made available to the public and students.

It will be the first time Ohio State plays a home game in front of fans since November of 2019. The spring game is Saturday, April 17th at Ohio Stadium.
