Wexner Medical Center Updates Visitor Policy

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has updated its visitor policy, as the spread of COVID-19 continues in the community.

The hospital will now only allow patients to have two named visitors, for the duration of their hospital stay. Those visitors also have to follow strict rules.

Those include wearing a hospital-grade face mask at all times, including in the patient's room, have no COVID-19 symptoms or recent exposures, and use hand sanitizer when entering the building, and when entering and leaving a patient's room.

There are additional protocols for visitors to COVID-19 patients, including not visiting other areas of the building.

The new policy takes effect Tuesday, September 28th.
