COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Secretary of State has placed the Franklin County Board of Elections under administrative oversight, over problems with the last two elections.

Frank LaRose says the board failed to properly handle their e-pollbooks, leading to at least three people being able to vote twice.

A voter informed the Secretary of State's office that they were permitted to vote on Election Day, even though they knowingly voted during the early voting period. The e-pollbook was not updated to reflect their earlier vote.

LaRose's office said there was a similar problem during the 2020 election, but it did not affect the final results.

Being under administrative oversight means local elections officials will have to report to the Secretary of State weekly, to ensure they are effectively administering elections.
