COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio Department of Transportation is now taking public input on a project to widen State Route 161 in Franklin County.

The work is set to begin next summer, and would widen 161 between I-270 and US 62 in each direction, as well as widen the ramp from 161 West to I-270 North.

ODOT is officially deeming the project as to, "accommodate additional traffic from expected future development in the area."

The work is in the area of the incoming Intel semiconductor plant for New Albany, which was announced earlier this year.

The ODOT project is set to be done by 2025, which is also when the first phase of the Intel complex is supposed to be done.
