Columbus City Schools to Revamp Bus Transportation System

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--In an effort to address major transportation issues that have persisted this year, the Columbus City School district will give the bus system a complete overhaul, effective January 3rd.

District officials say nearly every student will have a different bus driver, pickup and drop-off time, and even a new bus stop location.

Families will be notified of the changes through the mail. Emails and text messages will also be sent to parents who are registered through the Parent Portal.

The current problem is being blamed on a new software system implemented this school year, and the district will revert to the old system.

CCS estimates they transport 38,000- students to school and back each day.
