A recent trip to the Florida pan handle gave me the chance to do some off-shore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
We were going after red snapper and grouper. I'm proud to say I got the only grouper on the boat. It weighed about 18 pounds but I'm going to add about 100 pounds to make it a better story.
Now, the real fish story. One of my fishing partners hooked onto something much bigger than a red snapper... Turns out it was a hammerhead shark. He and two others battled this thing for about 30 minutes in an attempt to get it near enough to the boat to get a decent picture. We got it kind of close and snapped a picture of its outline..just before it snapped the line.
Pretty thrilling. And, Thank God it did not get into the boat.
