Pizzeria New York: 833 Hill Rd N Pickerington, OH 43147.
Atmosphere (out of 5): 3.0 is what they got. Nothing too crazy for this place. They are in a strip mall, but that doesn't really take away from the vibe of the joint. There wasn't any music or tons of NY-themed stuff. However, there was a nice large TV that was playing... anime? At Jeff's request, the tube was change to some football later.
Price (out of 5): 3.0 - this is due to the pretty steep $17 per dude tab. That's including tip, FYI. We normally try to keep it around $12 a guy, but this was a few bucks above our normal range. And, we didn't do anything different. Not like we ordered anything fancy. Just the usual pizza and pop combination.
Location (out of 5): 4.0 - the Pizzeria NY location is simple to get to. It's in Pickerington so basically 70E to 256E/Hill Road and then it's at the corner of Hill and Diley. We're usually down on strip mall pizza places, but they did a good job of not letting that ding their score here.
Service (out of 5): 4.5 - outstanding. The lady who waited on us was virtually perfect. We loved her. Don't remember her name, but she did a great job of making sure the beverages never ran dry. My Coke was half empty? She'd have it filled again. Love that. She served the pizza and joked with us - rock on. One of the best we've had. Now, the place was pretty empty when we were there, but she was excellent.
Taste (out of 10): 7.0 - about average. We got a Buffalo Chicken, Taco, Pepperoni / Meat Special. I think the best out of all of these was the Meat Special. But, they get bonus points for trying something new on a Taco Pizza - tortilla chips. Never had chips on a pizza but it worked. All the other pizzas ranked about average, but they didn't do a bad job. It's just that nothing really "popped" on our taste buds.
BOTTOM LINE: Interesting enough, I almost think Pizzeria New York in Pickerington tasted better when it was reheated a few days later. The Buffalo Chicken popped more and the Taco had an extra little zest. But, they scored 21.5/30. You claim alot with "New York" in your title, but we think they should not be discouraged. They have some improving to do - and that's not a bad thing.
