Do you know the name Chris Heben? After reading what happened to him in Akron, you probably won't forget it.

The 44-year-old former Navy SEAL was in the parking lot of the Mustard Seed Market and Cafe when he was hit by a car. After words were exchanged, Heben brushed off the incident and began to walk in the restaurant.

He then forgot his wallet in his car and walked back to get it. While he was looking through his vehicle, the suspects pulled up next to him and opened fire.

Despite the fact he had a bullet in his stomach, Heben plugged the wound and chased down his attackers. He understandably started to feel sick, discontinued his chase, and drove himself to the hospital - all after being shot in a parking lot.

The former Navy SEAL is recuperating and recently wrote the following on his Facebook page: "Much love and many thanks to everyone for all of the well wishes! It definitely keeps me going! I’ve been up walking around, yesterday and again this morning. The nurses are telling me to ‘take it slow’.....YEAH RIGHT! Had the NG tube taken out at 10 p.m. last night, felt like a new man and actually got 3 hours of sleep last night. I’m gonna take this dressing off in a bit. I’ll post a few more pics soon. I'm good to go!"

He also wrote: "Ok....It's time for me to get my ass up, grab a hot shave, and head out for another walk. The best thing for me to do is to keep my spirits up and to just keep moving! Onward and upward!"

Unfortunately, Chris Heben's attackers are still on the run. So, the Bath Township Police are accepting tips: 330-666-3736.
