It was a night for long shots in Portland...in the game and in timeouts.
At the end of the first half, in what turned out to be a Portland win over Oklahoma City, the Thunders Taj Gibson intercepted a length of the court pass and heaved it, overhanded into the basket. At the time the long 3-pointer gave the Thunder a 3-point halftime lead.
Flash forward to the timeout between the third and fourth quarter. As part of an in-game promotion with the Toyota dealers in Portland, Blazer fan Peter Crum needed to make a mid-court shot to win a Toyota. He did it, bringing the crowd to its feet and even drawing applause from players on both teams. Amazing night of long shots. Check out the videos here--first Gibson's shot and then Crum's.
