COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Former Ohio State football coach Earle Bruce--who's been battling the effects of a stroke for the past two years--has been diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, according to his daughter Lynn.
Talking with 610 WTVN's Joel Riley Friday morning, Lynn said the the family is requesting the understanding, patience, prayers and privacy of Buckeye fans and the public as they manage through a "challenging" time.
The announcement came during 610 WTVN's Athletes Against Alzheimer's radiothon to benefit the Earle and Jean Bruce Alzheimer's Research Fund at Ohio State.
