Florida Teacher Drowned Raccoons In Front Of Students

posted by Bill Galluccio -

A Florida agriculture teacher has been suspended by school officials while they investigate shocking videos which show him drowning raccoons with the help of his students. School officials said they received complaints that Dewie Brewton "drowned multiple animals in front of students, and with student participation because the animals were nuisances to the ag program at the school."

Students documented Brewton placing the caged animals into trashcans full of water on their phones. The teacher captured the animals after he claimed they killed chickens the class had been raising.

One parent, whose son was in the class, spoke with Fox35 and said she "was disgusted" after watching the videos.

"At first, I was in shock, of course, but I watched the video, and it’s horrific.  It’s disgusting, and I can’t believe it happened at school,” she said.

She explained that Brewton had the students help drown the animals by having them to use metal rods to hold the raccoons down when they came up for air.

“When the raccoons tried to come up for air, they had metal rods and they held them down with metal rods and when the raccoon would try to pop its head up, they held water hoses in its face to drown it.”

She said that she also contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission which is investigating the incident.
