Florida Man Ejected From Vehicle Survives Violent Crash At Toll Plaza

A tired driver is lucky to be alive after a violent crash at a toll plaza just south of Orlando, Florida. The shocking footage was released by the Florida Highway Patrol as a reminder of the dangers of driving while fatigued

Getting behind the wheel while fatigued can have dangerous, and sometimes deadly, consequences. If you’re having difficulty focusing, frequent blinking or heavy eyelids, pull over in a safe place to rest before continuing to drive. #ArriveAliveFL

In the video, a driver is paying the toll while a white car speeds toward the toll booth. As the car approaches it does not slow down and slams into the barrier between toll lanes, sending the driver flying through the windshield. The car then starts to catch on fire as one of the passengers exits the vehicle and walks toward a toll booth worker.

Police said that the driver, identified as 23-year-old Steven Dos Santos, had fallen asleep at the wheel.

There were five people, including the driver, in the car when it crashed. Miraculously, everybody survived the violent collision and only one of the passengers was taken to the hospital for treatment.
