New York City to Name Street for Steely Dan's Walter Becker

Late-Steely Dan co-founder and Queens, New York, native Walter Becker is to be honored with his very own street in the neighborhood where he grew up in Forest Hills.

In October the city will officially co-name the corner of 112th Street and 72nd Drive in Forest Hills "Walter Becker Way."

The ceremony will take place October 28. It will include special guest, remembrances from Becker's friends and colleagues, as well as very special giveaways for fans.

Q104.3 FM New York will present the event, which is being planned and organized by Becker's fans.

"It will undoubtedly be a fun and free gathering to honor and commemorate Walter as only they can!" said Becker's widow Delia in a press release.

The New York City Council approved the street co-naming on June 28. For additional information about the October 28 celebration of Walter Becker Way, go here
