Get 'Ghosted' With a New Halloween Costume

Ahh, Halloween - kids love it because they get free candy, adults love it because of all the parties and fun costumes they get to wear.

We know it can be difficult to come up with a good costume idea that hasn't been done to death (really, how many times can you go as a Jedi Knight? No that lightsaber doesn't look that cool). That's why we have the perfect suggestion for anyone who might have been 'ghosted' recently.

The outfit, which is being sold on PartyCity.com, is a simple white tunic shows several eager, unanswered texts that perfectly captures the pain of when someone you were into, turns out to be not that into you.

For those who don't know - 'Ghosting' someone is when a person you're interacting with (romantically or otherwise) abruptly stops responding to your efforts to get in touch, usually texts or social media. You know you're being ghosted when all your calls, emails, texts, smoke signals, all go unanswered by your intended party. It's as they died and turned into a 'ghost' with zero warning.

The 'Ghoster' is hoping the 'ghostee' will pick up the hint and cut off contact as well, in an attempt to avoid the awkward conversation on why they don't want to chat or hang out with them anymore.

Fortunately, for Party City, the 'Ghosting' costume was far better received by people than another company's attempt to be clever for Halloween.

Last week, Yandy.com faced outrage online after a picture of a model wearing the costume reminiscent of the outfit worn by women in the dystopian Hulu series "The Handmaid's Tale" was posted to their website for sale.

Yandy pulled the costume after an extensive social media backlash that slammed the idea of sexualizing the outfits worn by women on the dystopian show. Handmaids on the show are forced to bear children and are recognized by their long red dresses, white bonnets and red capes.

If you're interested, the Woman's 'Ghosted' Costume will set you back $24.99, but the memories you gain from people laughing at the idea will be priceless.
