COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Mayor Andrew Ginther and City Council are announcing a proposal for campaign finance reform for Columbus.
A release issued Wednesday said the city has chosen to implement contribution limits following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing the disclosure of dark money being used to influence elections.
The proposal seeks to limit annual contributions to under 13-thousand-dollars, create new disclosure rules, require audits of all campaign filings, and institute a system for reporting violations.
