Autistic Teen Rescued from House Fire in Reynoldsburg

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (WTVN)--A teenager with Autism was rescued from a burning home in Reynoldsburg Sunday night.

The fire broke out in a unit of the Blacklick Townhomes complex along East Livingston Avenue. The fire started in the kitchen area on the 1st floor of the unit, and firefighters found the teen unconscious in a bedroom upstairs.

That teen was removed from the home, and taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital for treatment. 

Crews are still working to pinpoint the exact cause of the fire. The boy's mother and father were able to escape safely. A sibling of the boy was not home at the time.

Neighbors were evacuated as a precaution, and everyone affected is receiving assistance from the red Cross.
