COLUMBUS, Ohio (24-7 News)--Officials at John Glenn International Airport are saying 2018 saw a record number of passengers come through its terminals.
According to estimates released Tuesday, the airport served almost eight million people last year. Once confirmed, that number will break the previous record of seven-point-seven million which was set in 2007 when the short-lived Columbus based Skybus Airlines was in operation.
Airport authorities say 2019 could prove to be even bigger as the new routes from three major carriers including Alaska Airlines are set to go into operation.
