COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The legal action being taken against Dr. William Husel and Mt. Carmel Health System is now a family affair.
A lawsuit filed by the family of Jan Thomas, who died in 2015 not only names Dr. Husel and Mt. Carmel, but a pharmacist and two nurses. One of them is Mariah Baird, who married Dr. Husel in 2017.
The lawsuit alleges that Baird administered a fatal dose of fentanyl to Thomas.
Multiple lawsuits have been filed against the hospital and Dr. Husel, many of them involve the over-prescription of pain medications.
Dr. Husel was fired by Mt. Carmel as a result, and the Ohio Medical Board suspended his medical license as well.
