Man Dies in High-Speed Motorcycle Crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says a motorcycle, going at an extremely high rate of speed, crashed near Columbus's west side Monday evening, killing the rider.

Deputies say it happened around 8PM along West Broad Street, near Georgesville Road. 20-year-old Brandon Knudsen of Grove City was operating a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja, heading westbound, when a vehicle pulled out of a parking lot in front of him.

Knudsen struck the vehicle on the driver's side. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say Knudsen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. It's not known yet whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
