COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohioans are drinking more liquor now than ever before.
The Ohio Division of Liquor Control says nearly 15-million gallons of booze were sold in the state in 2019. That amounts to $1.3-billion in sales.
Vodka continued its reign as Ohio's most sought-after liquor style, but retailers say they're getting more interest in bourbons and American whiskey.
Over the last 20 years, sales of high-end spirits have nearly doubled in the Buckeye State.
Officials also point to the increase in Ohio's population, as well as the increasing amount of liquor stores across the state.
