Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella was upset after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks. He was demonstrably angry in particular about the way officials and the league handled the end of overtime. He said the referees ignored captain Nick Folingo's request that they review how much time leaked off the clock after a last minute penalty on Chicago. Since Zach Werenski scored what would have been the game-winning, power play goal tenths of a second after time expired, that lost time was incredibly consequential.
Adding injury to insult, goaltender Joonas Korpisalo was hurt in the resulting shootout, and we are awaiting word on the severity of that injury.
But what did Foligno say about his interaction with the official? As you can see, Tortorella wasn't the only one emotional about the situation.
