Ohio Governor Responds to Impeachment Effort

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine took time during his COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday to respond to the effort by conservative members of the Ohio House of Representatives to impeach him, over the shutdown orders issued during the pandemic.

DeWine said he is focused on keeping people safe and getting the economy moving faster, saying if they want to move forward with it, "have at it."

Representative John Becker, of Clermont County, unveiled ten articles of impeachment against the Governor on Monday, saying DeWine went beyond his authority when ordering businesses to shut down during the coronavirus pandemic.

Becker acknowledges the impeachment effort will likely fail.
