COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--An Ohio State football player is now recovering, after getting shot over the weekend near the OSU campus.
Columbus Police responded to the call of a shooting along Chittenden Avenue just after midnight Sunday morning. Officers did not find a victim there, but found blood and one shell casing.
A blood trail eventually led officers to an apartment along East 11th Avenue, where 22-year-old Haskell Garrett was found with a gunshot wound to his face.
He was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center for treatment and is in stable condition. Garrett's wound was described as a "through and through" to his cheeks.
Garrett is a defensive tackle for the Buckeyes.
