COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation is part of the investigation into a shooting Thursday evening on the east side, involving a Columbus Police officer.
CPD says officers responded to a report of a robbery-in-progress in a parking lot along East Livingston Avenue. The victim was able to get away and run into a nearby business, and called police.
Officers made contact with the suspect and an altercation ensued. Multiple officers discharged their firearms and the suspect was taken into custody.
The female suspect was taken to Grant Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
CPD says under an agreement reached earlier this year, any shooting involving a Columbus Police officer is now handled by outside investigators with the Ohio BCI.
