A tornado touched down in New Orleans on Tuesday (February 7th), roaring through the New Orleans East neighborhood and injuring several dozen people, some of them seriously. The tornado, which was at least an EF-2 with winds of 111 to 135 miles per hour, was one of several that hit southeastern Louisiana, with Governor John Bel Edwards saying seven tornadoes were recorded in at least six different parishes. Homes and business were damaged by the storms, and thousands were left without power. NASA's Michoud rocket facility was damaged by the severe weather.
